People often ask me how, in spite of all the setbacks, challenges and hurdles in my life, how do I get up every day.

While I employ many coping mechanisms to manage stress, ptsd and the incidents in my life that threatened to destroy me, my most effective tool is my understanding of the power of 1. One step. One word. One change. One improvement. One person.

Getting started is often the biggest challenge, closely followed by continuing and consistency. But if you focus more on each step you take on the journey, and less on how many steps is required for the journey, you’ll look up one day and be surprised by how far you’ve made it.
